We have about 2600 feet of floor space. It is 2x6 tongue&groove subfloor, 25/32 particle board underlayment. We want to put down a wood floor over this. What's the best to use and the best way to do it. We were told at Lumber Liquidators we should not nail to the particle board. I saw at another dealer that it is ok to glue to the particle board underlayment. Is this true? Or what if we use 2 inch nails or staples since these would go through the 3/4 inch flooring, the underlayment, and go about 1/2 inch into the subfloor?

Installation is simple if you know the proper procedures. But if you think you can't do it, it is advisable to hire skilled worker who can install it for you, so you will not waste money and time.

To tile straight over the top of old or existing tiles you will need to, use a suitable detergent or tile cleaner to remove all the dirt and grease etc on them, do this by horizontally and vertically scoring the tiles using a tile scriber, this will facilitate a bond between the old tiles and your new tiles.
