Default Our furnace won't come on

We allowed our oil to run out, now we can't get our furnace to start. My husband pushed the reset already so he can't do that again; and a green light is blinking. I guess he "bled it out" (whatever that means.) Can any of you offer any other suggestions...other than a filter?
It's a Newmac furnace. The number might be NLF121401D03272; it was hard to see.
Thanks for your time;

Make sure its blead out corectly.

There is a small nipple located on the bottom of the burner itself. This nipple has a hex edge to it so you can use a small wrench (I think its a 1/4 inch) to open it. Turn it counterclockwise a few turns, then turn the thermostat up till the burner turns on. Make sure you have a bucket to catch the oil. The oil comes out of the nipple. At first its frothy then once it becomes pure close the nipple fully.

Default furnace won't turn on

Thanks for the suggestion. We tried it again..this time turning up the thermostat, but nothing happened. I guess the green light that went on means something, but what? What has to happen for it to go off?
This type of thing can make you feel so helpless. Thanks for being there.

We're ok now.
As embarrassing as this is; my husband didn't know to hold the reset button in. He just pushed it and let it right out.
You almost have to start us out at the kindergarten level.
Thanks for your help. I saved the info for our next event.
