heated flooring in the kitchen

Hi am putting in a new floor in my kitchen. I would like to have ceramic flooring with electric heat pads installed to warm the floor. The house I live in is about 45 to 50 years old and 3 of the walls are doubled brick instead of insulated by regular insulation. I have had many people trying to talk me out of it because they all tell me the ceramic tiles will crack do to heating and cooling. Can someone please help me to make the right decision?
