Default Sliding Doors

I would like to remove a slider to clean, lube or replace if necessary the rollers. I understand I must first remove the fixed glass but I can`t get the fixed glass to move at all. The frame goes all the way up to the channel. Whats the secret to get it out?

By the "fixed glass" - do you mean the fixed panel? (non operator) or are you referring to the glass fixed into the frame of the sliding (operable) unit?

Either way i don't quite get it. On every slider i have ever dealt with you simply take out the operable unit which is easy, sometimes you just crank down the adjustable height of the roller cam, lay the panel on the ground and access the rollers from the bottom.

Many times people want to lubricate the rollers or the track they roll on with an oily lubricant or WD40 - don't do it. Use furniture polish instead, it has wax in it for rolling and also keeps dirt from accumulating.

By the way if you were referring to the non-operable panel, sometimes on non-reversable units the "panel" is part of the frame with the glass glazed right into it, so there is no removing it.

I hope this helps,
Ed
