Thirty percent is pretty low...generally 50-60 percent is called "Comfort Level", for winter conditions. Of course, in summer 30 percent would feel pretty good, but think the 50-60%, approx, is a pretty good guideline. Wood musical instruments need something over 50% to prevent cracks, warping etc, but too much is also bad,

Without knowing where you live and without knowing a LOT more about the context of your question, it would be impossible to answer your question. A relative humidity of 30% could be extremely high for some locations and situations and extremely low for other locations and circumstances. George’s comments are valid for many parts of the country and not very applicable for other parts. So, tell us where you live, and whether or not you have fully conditioned air in a closed mode building – or do you have passive ventilation (doors and windows with a normal residential heater/AC unit).
