Default Hot water heater provides scalding water for about 15 secs.

Hot water heater provides scalding water for about 15 secs. then moderates. After I turn it off and turn it back on a minute later, this repeats. Electric/dual/5 yrs. old

Default ck elements

-Turn off power first before working with electricity
- Suspect the heating element(s).They can be tested with a ohm meter. Replacing a heating element is not a difficult job.
-If you need to replace heating element(s),turn off water supply then drain water heater before replacing the element(s).
-BEFORE turning on the power to heater, turn on water suppy to heater
then turn on hot water at a sink or tub to purge air from water heater tank.If you turn on power first you will burn out new element(s)

Default water not hot enough

ck. your dip tube at the supply inlet. this directs water to the bottom of tank. a long plastic tube that pulls out from the top

Default get it fixed or replace it

I had a similar problem and I had to find services to help me get rid of the problem. First I had the thermostat fixed but the problem was gone only for several days and I found services at
www.proservices.com
They have replaced the thermostat and it works fine now. I think you may be having the same problem. Try to get it fixed.
