my door will go down 2-3 feet and then reverse itself and open up full. It is the same whether using the remote on the wall or in the car. What is happening? The sensors are not being obstructed.

Mine was doing the same. I had to hold the wall button down until I reached the point where I wanted the door to stop. I finally found a wire that was damaged at the sensor mounted on the track down by the floor. Fixed the wire and now it works

Alot of garage doors have knobs with a slot (for a screwdriver) that can be adjusted to change the amount of "downward" or "upward" force that the drive motor exerts on the garage door.
I would recommend looking up on-line the make/model of your garage door and reviewing the operating manual. The knobs are sometimes located behind the plastic covers for the lightbulbs. Make sure you don't change the knobs too much as you could affect the safety feature for the door that reverses if a child is trapped underneath a closing door. kebo |
