Default Installing or Replacing a Standard Light Switch

how do i wire two separate switches from one power source two different lights?

Heres what I do. You will need to take the hot wire usually black splice 2 extension wires with a wire nut sending each extension to the switches. All the nuetral wires usually white need to be all tied together with a wire nut. Then take your other black wires leading to the lights and connect them to the appropriate switches. Make sure that the circuit breaker if off before touching any bare wires.
