I have an Armstrong Air Conditioning Corp. (a subsidiary of Lennox), Heater/Airconditioner, which has a control board with the same part number (47582-001) you describe. On the inside of the cover of the unit is a label with the following flash codes described:
Ignition System Diagnostic Indicator LED OFF -No power to control or control hardware fault detected LED ON -Normal Operation 1 Flash -Flame present with gas valve off 2 Flashes -Pressure switch closed with inducer off 3 Flashes -Pressure switch open with inducer on 4 Flashes -High limit switch open 5 Flashes -Rollout switch open 6 Flashes -Pressure switch cycle lockout 7 Flashes -Lockout due to no ignition 8 Flashes -Lockout due to too many flame dropouts 9 Flashes -Incorrect line voltage phasing - polarity reversed It's sad that they will not provide even this much information on their website. My unit right now once powered on tries to start by running the flame for 4 seconds (with a nice and strong burner while doing so) and will then shut down and try again, repeating this cycle for 10 times. Then it will shut down with a fault code of 8 flashes, "Lockout due to too many flame dropouts." The control board PCB looks like it has been wet in a couple of places with some of the parts and board corroded to the point it could be the problem. Time to call the repairman since it is possibly still be under warranty having only been replaced a year or two ago. The board may be damaged by water but either the design should have protected the board from such moisture by coating the board or by proper installation. Personally I think Lennox's engineers made an incorrect assumption in believing that the board would not require any protective coating from moisture. It is just nearly impossible to keep some of that out when it sits right under the evaporator and over time it will be damaged. Hope this helps! |
