We recently painted our living room a shade of green on 2 walls and tan on the other 2 walls. We have a house built in the 70`s so the coat closet is a wood door. It looks awful and sticks out like a sore thumb. Should we paint it the door trim color or the same color (green) as the wall? I guess the same question applies to the metal entrance door (on the living room side).

Hi....
Remeber painting is all about the home owner.......Things to consider: There is no 'right' or 'wrong'......If you want to 'hide' the door, paint it the same as it's wall. If not, paint it a 'different' color, like the 'other' wall color or the 'trim' color(the door jam, and moulding will need to be done as well). Are the doors stained? Do they have a urethane finish? Painting over these is a very different process than re-painting walls! Let me know if I can help! ~Michael |
