Default Water Softener

Well the thing to look out with water softeners is whether they need chemicals to operate. What's the point of buying something to make your water better if at the same time you are degrading its quality.

Then you want to consider the cost of maintenance. In most cases filtration is extremely expensive to use for all the water in a house because of the amount of times you would need to replace cartridges or refill the salt or chemical process.

I would look into water structuring units. There is one at this water filter site that is really cool. These puppies not only soften your water but they also protect your family, pets and plants from toxins coming in from the city water system. Like chlorine, asbestos or fluoride. What's also cool is that it is a one time installation with no maintenance after that. You should probably check it out yourself to understand why it's so cool.

Hope this helped.

Default Water Softeners Verses Water Filters

Newbie, there is a flaw in your thinking. A water filter does not soften water and hard water can damage or ruin pipes and appliances. Consequently, MikeMeyers' hard water problem wouldn't be solved with the installation of the system you linked to.
