Default temperature pressure valve

If the temperature pressure relief valve is leaking and someone comes and plugs the valve. Is that illegal and can that be dangerous?

Good morning, bburgo:

Although your question is not actually in the right location (Air and Water Quality), the answer depends on the circumstances (appliance, rationale for plugging the system, application, etc).

In general, one should not be blocking the pressure relief valve of anything.

Cheers!
