Default Understanding Your Electrical Meter

is there any such thing as a Electrical meter
that can plugin instead of a breaker or of course better yet in series with a breaker so I can check each room and prove to my adult son and daugher the heaters etc. in their rooms are expencive -exactly means so much more than just someones says and to figure what is the problem as I have 400 to 700 bills in the winter no matter if my central furnance is working or not I am suspecting it is more related to rain than cold so I need to isolate the various circuits to find the likely inttermittaint short. PS I am in california the winters are rain not extreme cold.

Hi bee. I am a California certified electrician. Plug in space heaters comsume a HUGH amount of electricity, and, as you found out, make your electric bill go sky high. Just because they are small and don't seem to put out much heat, the amperage load is a killer to your wallet.
